  2.        v"zQuick Installation:v"z Extract the archive to a disk or directory.
  3.                            Assign Demo: to that disk or directory.

  6.          v"zPro-Net_Demov"z is a demonstration version of v"zPro-Net V2.0Cv"z, the
  7.        latest version of our Schematic Capture program.  Pro-Net allows
  8.        you to quickly and easily call up, place, move, or delete devices
  9.        from a large library of parts, make connections by drawing a
  10.        sequence of straight lines, bundling associated signal lines into
  11.        busses, and labelling lines and busses.  The Post Processing
  12.        functions allow you to create v"zNet Listsv"z for use by Pro-Board (our
  13.        Printed Circuit Board layout package), v"zBills of Materialsv"z (a
  14.        sorted list of the parts you have placed on your schematic, with a
  15.        count of each), v"zComponent Mapsv"z (find the schematic page where your
  16.        parts or gates are located), v"zPage Referencingv"z (tells where your
  17.        signals are coming from or going to), and v"zError Checkingv"z (detects
  18.        output overloading, output-to-output connections, and sums total
  19.        supply current).

  21.          The most important thing to remember is that Prolific products
  22.        are designed for seamless operation using either the mouse or
  23.        keyboard.  v"zThere are no Pull-Down menus.v"z  The Right Mouse Button
  24.        is used to Delete items which were Added with the Left Mouse
  25.        Button.  You cannot Delete an object (device, line, signal name,
  26.        text label, etc.) unless you are in the mode to Add the object.

  28.          The Gadgets displayed at the bottom of the screen are called
  29.        Intelligent Function Keys (IFK for short).  IFKs are dynamic; some
  30.        or all of them will change as you move through the hierarchical
  31.        menu structure to display the available commands.  IFKs can be
  32.        activated with either the mouse or the corresponding Function Key
  33.        at the top of the main keyboard.

  35.          One more note before starting the Demo... because Pro-Net comes
  36.        with almost a thousand Library Device definitions, faster
  37.        directory listings are obtained by using Index files.  v"zDo notv"z
  38.        v"zcopy, delete, or rename devices or schematic pages using AmigaDOSv"z,
  39.        or you will not be able to access them.  If you accidentally alter
  40.        the directory structure, the ARexx utility MKPNDIR.REXX in the
  41.        Demo:Rexx drawer will reconstruct the Index files for any or all
  42.        of the directories.

  45.        v"zDEMO USAGEv"z
  46.           To use the Demo, you can start from either the Workbench or
  47.        CLI.  If you use the CLI, first v"zset a stack of 20000v"z.  At the
  48.        opening screen, select the Config IFK and specify which drive or
  49.        volume to use (the default is Demo:, the Volume name of this
  50.        disk).

  52.          Once the configuration has been specified, use the Escape key to
  53.        Exit one level and select Edit (you may also place the mouse
  54.        cursor over the IFKs at the bottom of the screen and click the
  55.        Right Mouse Button).  There is a demo schematic, PNDEMO.1, which
  56.        displays several of the features of Pro-Net.

  58.          If you select NEW, you can create your own schematic from the
  59.        supplied Library Parts (use SUBDIR and specify which Library to
  60.        view), but you will not be able to save your creations with this
  61.        demo software.  You can, however, create and save Device Symbols
  62.        and Device Definitions and load them into schematic pages.

  64.          The Post Processing module can generate the Net List, Bill of
  65.        Materials, Component Map, and Error Checking for any saved
  66.        schematic.

  68.          Net Lists are used by v"zPro-Boardv"z, our Printed Circuit Board
  69.        routing package with manual, guided, or fully automatic placement
  70.        and routing.

  72.          If you install to hard disk, we recommend that you ASSIGN a
  73.        convenient Logical name for use in the Config screen's Data and
  74.        Lib entries (i.e. "ASSIGN CAD: Work:Pro-Net") and place it in your
  75.        User-StartUp or StartUp-Sequence.  Our text gadgets are customized
  76.        so that you can Exit from any text requester using either Escape
  77.        operation (the Escape key or clicking the Right Mouse Button when
  78.        the cursor is over the IFKs at the bottom of the screen).
  79.        Consequently, they do not operate the same as standard Amiga text
  80.        gadgets.

  82.          The file v"zProNet.Featuresv"z is taken from the manual and describes
  83.        many the commands available.  The Printing and Plotting
  84.        capabilities are provided in a separate program called v"zPlot-Netv"z,
  85.        which supports HPGL and some non-HPGL plotters, as well as
  86.        printers (draft mode only).  ProNet.Features is almost 90K long;
  87.        it would be a good idea to print this file out for reference.
